Internet Central makes 101 calls Free of Charge

Home office asks providers to make 101 calls free of charge

The Home Office has expressed its wish for the non-emergency 101 police service to be free of charge for consumers from April 2020.

Given the challenging circumstances we all face and the uncertainty this brings, the Home Office has requested all Communication Providers facilitate zero rating of this service urgently so that it is free to callers from 1 April 2020. In so doing it will help to manage the impact on the critical 999 service.

There is no contractual obligation for Service Providers to do this however as from 1st April 2020, Internet Central will be leading from the front in making this change for all of its customers.

The change will be promoted in forthcoming communications and via the media, and the Home Office will be promoting this to consumers with confidence that they will not be charged for calls made to the 101 service.

Internet Central will not charge our customers for calls to 101 in voice service tariffs, this includes Calls, Hosted Communications (WHC), IPVS, SIP Trunking (WSIPT), Avaya Cloud Solutions (ACS), and Hosted Contact Centres (HCC) from 1 April 2020 to enable support of the Home Office request.

If you have any queries regarding this change, please drop us a call on 01782 667788

Thank you for your continued support as we all work together through these unprecedented and challenging times.
